A Crewed Cabin Charter

crewed cabin charters in the Mediterranean

So you'd love to come sailing in the Mediterranean on a beautiful yacht but really only need one cabin? Crewed cabin charters are the perfect option when an entire yacht is more than you need. We offer a great alternative – booking by the cabin means you enjoy the big boat experience at a fraction of the cost of a fully skippered charter. Perfect for couples and singles, cabin charters allow you to indulge in the luxury of sailing the Med on a fantastic island hopping sailing cruise.

With a maximum of 6 like-minded guests onboard, we specialise in crewed cabin yacht charters that are a little bit out of the ordinary and more personalised. In the Ionian, you will be sailing onboard the luxurious Lagoon 42 catamaran 'Hydrax' and enjoy your own spacious double cabin with its own individual en-suite. There is nothing quite like cruising on a catamaran for comfort, style and spaciousness.

In the Aegean, you will enjoy sailing onboard 'Invictus' a near new Beneteau 48 that is a beautiful yacht to sail and live aboard.

Here’s How It Works

A week or two on board a luxury yacht or catamaran combines the freedom of a sailing holiday with the comfort and service of a luxury villa. Book a cabin with your own private ensuite, just as you might on a cruise ship but you will only be sharing the yacht with a few other like-minded people. We manage the sailing and you can help as little or as much as you like. (In fact, many of our guests take full advantage of the opportunity to learn new sailing skills while they are onboard.)

A crewed charter with us provides you with your hotel room, facilities, transport and a new daily destination, all in one package. You have a luxurious, floating hotel room that comes with you as you sail from one stunning island to the next. You simply sail there in style.

Who Takes Our Trips?

The trip is for non-sailors, novices or experienced sailors, it doesn't matter. You can join in all aspects of life aboard and we welcome you to take the helm or you can simply read a book and soak up the sun. You can join us if you are a single, couple or a group of friends as you pay by the cabin. The majority of our guests are couples, younger or older and singles looking for a wonderful holiday with company.

Group Discounts

Of course you can book more than one cabin if you wish. If you get together a group of your friends or family, you can enjoy the following group discounts. Book 2 cabins and receive a 10% discount, book 3 cabins and receive a 15% discount, it's as simple as that.

What Happens Each Day?

The day will typically start with breakfast to be enjoyed in the spacious cockpit whilst anchored in an idyllic bay. We set sail to our next destination with the chance to have lunch aboard or onshore, depending on where we are. Enjoy a refreshing swim before or after lunch, it’s up to you to decide. The Med has crystal clear waters that invite you to dive in and enjoy cooling off at whatever anchorage we happen to be. One of the pleasures of being on your own yacht!

We try to arrive into harbour in the late afternoon as the towns and villages we visit are well worth exploring, with each having their own character and specialities. There is nothing better after a day of great sailing than to relax in the spacious cockpit and enjoy a sun-downer with your fellow sailors before exploring each new island. If you are a foodie, this is a great part of Greece, with each island having their own local delicacies to try.

Every evening, there will be one or two restaurants we recommend for dinner that offer something a little special whether it's the location, the food or the hospitality. If you don't wish to join the rest of the crew then you can choose to find your own little taverna or konoba. It's nice to have the option to mix and match.

What About Meals?

Lunches are informal and depend on where we happen to be on any one day. If we are at anchor off a nice remote beach, we'll make wholesome lunches from the supplies onboard. The same goes for dinners at anchor. More often than not, we will be close to a taverna where we can go ashore and take advantage of experiencing the local cuisine and soak up the atmosphere. The wind and weather often decides our itinerary!

You Are The Crew

A sailing cruise or cabin charter is an adventure sailing vacation where you can participate in all aspects of life aboard the yacht. You can help with:

  • raising and trimming sails and taking a watch
  • assisting with the Med mooring/docking the yacht upon arrival at port
  • helping to prepare, serve and clean up meals aboard each day

Frequently Asked Questions

{slider title=" Why should I choose a cabin charter holiday?" class="blue"} If you are new to sailing, or simply want to visit the islands in the best way possible, the cabin charter program is ideal. This is also a great holiday if you are travelling alone or if you are a sailor looking for some big boat experience in a more challenging area.

{slider title=" Do I need a sailing license or experience?" class="blue"} No, you do not need a sailing license, as we have professional qualifications and experience. You don’t need experience either, just a sense of adventure! {slider title=" Do I need a visa for my trip to the Greece?" class="blue"} No, for Greece a tourist visa is not required. {slider title=" How much cash should I take with me?" class="blue"} Obviously this will depend on what your plans are, but generally you can expect to pay around 15 euros per person for an evening meal. Although most places take card, it is good practice to have enough cash with you to cover any bill. Cash points are available at our home ports of Lefkas as well as many of the islands – Nathalie and I know exactly where and when you can get more and they will keep you updated as your holiday progresses. Travellers cheques are no longer readily accepted, and of course euros is the currency used in Greece. {slider title=" What wind conditions can I expect?" class="blue"} Generally the prevailing wind is from the North / North West and the strength ranges from force 2 to force 5. Stronger sailing breezes can generally be expected in the afternoons, between 2 and 5pm. {slider title=" Do I need to stock up with provisions at base?" class="blue"} We will have stocked the yacht with provisions for continental breakfast and light lunch, which will be prepared for you daily. Should you wish to bring your favourite snacks or drinks on board, you can purchase these locally. The fridges on board are predominantly for the food purchased for you by the crew, there will be space for a cold beer or a bottle of wine for your sun downer at the end of a days sailing. Most islands have local kiosks where you can buy cold drinks, so no need to stock up unless you are going to spend an evening on anchor. We will let you know what the program will be, so you can plan accordingly. {slider title=" Can I get involved with the sailing?" class="blue"} Absolutely. You can get involved as much or as little as you would like, that’s one of the benefits of our cabin charter. We can certainly give you some informal tuition to help improve your sailing skills. You can participate and learn as much as you like. {slider title=" How long will we sail each day?" class="blue"} This will depend upon the particular destination of the day, however we look to organise our itinerary so that there are not more than 30 nautical miles between ports. This equates to around 5-6 hours at sea – plenty of time normally for a lunch stop in a bay with a swim. We generally aim to be in harbour by 5pm, although this is dependent upon the weather, obviously.

{slider title=" What is the Local Payment? " class="blue"}

For our Crewed Cabin Charters, the local payment is approximately 90€ per person and includes your tourist taxes, marina fees and fuel charges.

This payment will be payable directly to your the Skipper on the day of your departure.
