Luxury Private Charter Sailing the Ionian Islands, Greece
17th to 24th September, 2022
This is a wine activity and unique holiday, all wrapped up together. Taking 7 days, we will sail the luxury catamaran 'Hydrax' around the islands of the Ionian Sea. Wine expert Nathalie Amey will be onboard and will conduct informal tastings each evening for the aperitif. There will be plenty of opportunity to go ashore and visit the local artisan winemakers that dot these islands, with Nathalie acting as wine guide.
It will be a wonderful mix of good wine, wine appreciation, authentic Greek food in out of the way tavernas and of course superb sailing on a luxury catamaran.
Our Route
The yacht is based in Lefkas, the starting point with its own airport, so you can be aboard the boat in next to no time. From here we will sail south to Kefalonia, Ithaka and Zakynthos and the smaller islands Meganisi, Kalamos and Kastos. Each island has it's own unique wine and food culture that is waiting for us explore and savour.
From a practical perspective, the boat has 4 double cabins, all with their own en-suite. That means there are 3 cabins free. 'Hydrax' is new Lagoon 42, the ultimate in luxurious sailing. This will certainly be a magnificent sailing holiday.
More Information - The Islands of the Ionian Sea

The seven main islands of the Ionian Sea are: Kefalonia - the largest, was made famous by the book and movie ‘Captain Corelli’s Mandolin’. The island is covered in citrus trees, olive groves and vineyards and, on the northwest coast steep cliffs drop down to white pebble beaches.
In the north close to Albania is the second largest island, Corfu. The south of the island is covered with green farmland, vineyards and orange groves rising up to mountains in the north. The emperess Sissi had her palace here.
Just below Corfu is Paxos, the smallest of the Ionian islands, full of olive trees. This sleepy island has just three tiny villages - Gaios, Lakka and Loggos.
Lefkas is further south and covered with pine trees, beautiful beaches and picturesque harbour villages. It is close to the mainland and connected with a bridge. The second largest town on the island is Nidri with many restaurants, bars and a nice boulevard. Tiny islands like Meganissi where you might spot dolphins, and the wooded Skorpios, where the Onassis family had their home are just off the coast. Today you can’t get on to Skorpios island, because it’s protected, but we can sail you close enough.
The sixth island from north to south is Zakynthos, known for its rugged coastline with high cliffs (lime rock), in between which you will find small deserted beaches.
Ithaka, a small island east of Kefalonia, is the legendary home of Odysseus, hero of Homer’s Odyssey. The east coast has quiet waters and steady afternoon breezes. You may want to visit some beautiful towns like Frikes and Kioni.
Last but not least there is Kythira, sitting lonely at the south tip of the mainland of Greece. This is where Aphrodite (Greek Goddess of love) was supposedly born. The island is untouched and hilly in the north.
